Moy Mackay is a textile artist from Scotland whose work is stunning and very painterly. The colors in her works just jump out and grab you, which I find a little unusual in textile art that is representational. Color schemes like hers are common in geometric patterns, but these could easily be mistaken for acrylic paintings at a glance. Here is a link to an article about her work that is interestinghttp://emptyeasel.com/2008/02/13/stunning-textile-landscapes-by-scottish-artist-moy-mackay/
and more of her images are featured here: http://texthouse.typepad.com/photos/moymackay/index.html
