First world problems.

I need a vacation. From vacations. Once again I’m hurrying to finish a piece. Why do I keep doing this to myself?
This year, I know why, I guess. Circumstances have put several trips in too short a period of time. And you know how it is, the couple of days before and after travelling are NOT productive in the studio.
I am happy to have finished up to the point that I had set as a goal for today. As long as I can keep up with my goals on each day I have left to work on it, I’ll be ok. But it would just be so awesome to stop making myself miserable!

Sometimes I’ll lay out a few things before deciding whether or not to glue them down – what do you think? Should I glue this one down?

Not sure this is progress!

I am by nature the organized type.  When my surroundings are in disarray, I can’t think.  I stumble from one thing to the next, accomplishing nothing.  So although I have seen fellow artists post pictures of their studios in way worse shape than mine is now, I find it almost physically painful to be in here right now.








And I have a stomach ache.  Cause or effect?  Hmmm…….

Warning: Panic Attack Imminent

I don’t know what I’m doing here on the computer – I have two medium size mosaics to finish toot sweet.  The dogwood mosaic needs to be done (ideally) by May 22/23 when we are supposed to hang the show at the Discover Portsmouth Center.  I can probably do it if I sleep only 4 hours a night.  Maybe.  Ugh.  I think if I don’t get it done in time, I will have the option of bringing it in when I do, but that seems unprofessional.
And of course, the second part of the diptych project is jeering at me from the corner, reminding me it should be finished by June 15. 
Ok, so I’m off to work on the dogwood – pictures of progress coming soon.
